Maxi’s Family Restaurants had humble beginnings in Pretoria in 1993. The brand was acquired by Scooters Pizza in 2005 and form part of Taste Holdings in 2006. Maxi’s received 2 Top 10 Sunday Times Family Sit Down Category nominations in 2009 and 2013. Maxi’s won FASA Franchisor of the year in 2010. Maxi’s got acquired by Fiamme Holdings in 2019.

After 26 years of keeping customers happy by offering a welcoming store environment and serving great quality, great value food, the management team at Maxi’s decided it was time for a complete refresh. With growing competition in this category, we need to appeal to new customers as well with a contemporary casual dining experience. Maxi’s currently have 7 new-look stores 5 in South Africa and 2 cross borders.
